Congratulations to Meme.Menu, Wyncode Academy’s first startup, for the wonderful article on the company featured by the Morgans Hotel Group’s Back Of House blog.
When P.K. Banks, the company’s founder, joined our first cohort at our flagship location it was immediately apparent that his drive, determination, ambition, and persistence would take him far. What we didn’t know is that he would go on to hire three Wyncode grads from later cohorts to help scale his company.
The Chicago born former New York City financier moved to Miami to develop a tech business around his idea for a visual menu application. First he tried teaching himself coding online. That didn’t work. So he hired a private a tutor, a University of Miami computer science professor no less. That didn’t work either. So he signed up for a local university’s web design program; and then left after nine months when it wasn’t right for him.
Finally fate smiled upon Banks with the opening of Florida’s first brick and mortar coding bootcamp, a hardcore development shop where he could bring his idea to life. Upon graduation, Banks hit the ground running with his working prototype; and it’s become a full fledged business with clients in Miami’s hottest restaurants.

Oh yeah, be sure to find Meme. Menu in the App Store.
We look forward to watching P.K. and his team’s continued success and thank him for also mentoring later cohorts of Wyncoders too.
