South Florida’s first stand-alone code school campus will launch in the Wynwood Arts District on January 8th, 2017
Wyncode Academy, Florida’s first brick and mortar coding bootcamp which teaches computer programming in ten weeks, is launching Wynbase. Wynbase is South Florida’s first stand-alone code school campus and is located in the heart of Miami’s Wynwood Arts District, the center of the creative startup ecosystem. As part of Wyncode’s long term commitment to building Miami Tech, the transition to a standalone campus is the next step in meeting the growing need for tech education. As a result of the expansion, Wyncode will also be launching its first-ever part-time course, for those that want to learn how to code without leaving their job.
“We’re incredibly excited to launch Wynbase and provide the best possible learning environment for our students,” Wyncode co-founder Johanna Mikkola said. “We are extremely proud of the impact Wyncode has had on the Miami Tech ecosystem so far and having our own home base will allow us to improve and expand our programming. We believe the future for Miami Tech is bright and we can’t wait to welcome the entire tech community to Wynbase in 2017.”
Wyncode’s Wynbase will be located in the heart of Wynwood and includes two full-size classrooms, a smaller classroom for corporate training programs and an open concept coworking area for Wyncode students and staff. Wyncode’s award-winning Immersive Web Development course will now start every five weeks and provide prospective Wyncoders with more flexibility in terms of start dates. More importantly, this innovative new format provides students with the opportunity to repeat the first 5-week section if they need extra time to work on their fundamentals. Wyncode’s part-time Web Development course will run in the evenings and offer career-oriented students the option to keep their day jobs while learning to build web applications at night. Wyncode will also follow on its first successful corporate workshop with Visa and build more corporate training programs for Miami companies looking to adopt Agile methodologies and innovate their processes through automation and other technologies.
Wyncode Academy, based in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, is licensed by the Florida Department of Education and has over 350 graduates with a 97% job placement rate. Over 100 companies have hired Wyncoders. The Wyncode program attracts people without a programming background from a variety of careers: chefs, lawyers, salespeople, accountants, concierges, marketing executives and entrepreneurs. People of these backgrounds and more have all learned to code through Wyncode’s intensive, full-time program. Applications for the program are accepted on a rolling basis and interested candidates should apply at wyncode.co.
