Written by Administrator on 18th December 2015, 10:00 PM
In anticipation of Techweek Miami, the annual list of the 100 most influential tech leaders in South Florida was released last month for Techweek100. Our very own Johanna Mikkola, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Wyncode, was selected along with an amazing list of other prominent local leaders, including:
- Alberto Ibarguen – President & CEO of Knight Foundation
- Carlos Gimenez – Mayor of Miami-Dade County
- Julio Frenk – President of The University of Miami
- Raul Leal – CEO of Virgin Hotels
- Laura Maydon – Managing Director of Endeavor Miami
- Manny Medina – Founder of Medina Capital
- Nancy Dahlberg – Staff Writer at Miami Herald
- Andres Moreno – Founder & Ceo of Open English
Other local leaders of fast-growing tech companies, prominent investors, key enablers of the digital ecosystem, creators of new technologies and important local innovators were also recognized. The selections were based on individuals who, like Johanna, are making a significant impact on the local technology and innovation ecosystem in Miami and for displaying originality, prominence, gumption, and pertinence.
The Techweek100 were honored guests throughout Techweek Miami, a week-long festival of conferences, meet-ups, pitch events, happy hours and more – all to celebrate the burgeoning tech community in South Florida. Techweek was held all over the city from December 7-13 and culminated with the National Launch Championships, the battle royale of pitch competitions, which featured six tech companies who competed for an equity investment of $50,000.

Wyncode participated in Techweek Miami and hosted an open house at The Lab Miami on the opening night for people interested in learning how to code. It was a packed event and featured presenters from PointSlope, one of six teams who competed in the National Launch Championships, and members from the winning team of the recent AT&T Hack-a-thon – which happened to be led by Wyncode graduates!
