Guest speakers at Wyncode

What better way to learn than by example? At Wyncode Academy, we do exactly this by completely immersing our students in the world of coding. Our ultimate goal, as the best rated coding school on Course Report, is to give our students the training to succeed and to make an impact within the emerging startup ecosystem in South Florida, or wherever they dream of going!

One way we are able to provide our students with real-world knowledge, so that they can immediately contribute to the Miami Tech scene upon graduation, is by regularly bringing in relevant, informative and compelling guests to come and share their stories. Having our students learn from, and interact with, successful entrepreneurs, developers and leaders, is an integral part of the overall learning experience for Wyncoders. Plus, our students seem to enjoy these visits just as much as they seem to learn from them! Just ask Manuel Huerta, a current student enrolled in our Fort Lauderdale campus.

Manuel was able to participate in a junior web developers panel with three Udacity Bay Area employees, who shared their journey and advice with the current FTL cohort. We host a similar panel for each of our cohorts, so that our students can meet those presently working in the field. Oftentimes, those participating on the panel are Wyncoders themselves, who are now doing amazing things in the world of tech.

In addition, we regularly invite knowledgeable guests, to speak to our students about how they can make their mark as coders, whether they want to work for a thriving start-up or start their own tech company upon graduation. Here is a list of some of the amazing guest speakers that have stopped by Wyncode to share their story:

Matt Haggman – Miami Program Director at The Knight Foundation
Laura Maydon – Managing Director and CEO of Endeavor Miami
Mark Kingdon – Angel Investor
Stephanie Serafin – Senior Engineer at Equisolve
Brian Breslin – Founder/Director of Refresh Miami
Will Weinraub – CEO & Co-Founder of Live Ninja
Brian Brackeen – CEO & Founder of Kairos
Xavier Gonzalez – CEO of eMerge Americas
Jonathan Leblanc – Global Head of Developer Advocacy at PayPal / Braintree

Marco Giberti – Founder & CEO of Vesuvio Ventures
Katherine Penta – Digital Copy Writer for Fiverr
Rebekah Monson – Co-Founder of The New Tropic & co-founder of Code for Miami and Hacks/Hackers Miami

Not only do our students learn a tremendous amount from these influencers, they also enjoy being able to regularly interact with some real movers and shakers in Miami and beyond. It’s always exciting to see the engagement between “teachers” and “students” in real-time, especially on social media. For a great example of this, take a look at the guest speaking experience that Matt Haggman of The Knight Foundation had when he visited Wyncode:
