Ana Gonzalez earned a Bachelor in Fine Arts with a focus in Painting and Graphic Design, but as she envisioned her career, she knew she wanted to get into technology. Learn how Wyncode’s Full Stack Web Development bootcamp helped her transform her career and land a role at one of Miami’s Tech Healthcare companies.
Learn about Ana Gonzalez’s journey in her own words.
Prior to Wyncode, I learned basic HTML and CSS concepts in high school, more on the Graphic Design side. I graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelors in Painting and a minor in Graphic Design. My design experience influenced me towards a more technical path.
It was very difficult for me to find a job out of University. I was willing to learn a new set of skills, like coding, to help find a job more suitable for me. I decided to attend Wyncode because it was the best fit for me. Wyncode’s facilities, teaching styles, and scholarships fit my goals and needs to begin a technological career.
My favorite part of the bootcamp was the pacing of the teaching. My Cohort consistently had instructors who were skilled in their proven field. The guest speakers inspired me to look into all of the diverse realms of tech, like security, front-end, and back-end development. Some lessons I learned beyond the curriculum
Ana’s tips for future Wyncoders or those interested in a career in tech.
Never stop coding. I recommend finding any area in coding that interests you, like building an app or a personal project and sticking with it. This will help you build a strong portfolio and help you develop first hand experience.
I would also attribute my success to positive thinking and manifesting my dreams and goals into a reality. I think of the outcome and continue to consistently work towards what I want.
Before the bootcamp ended, I set up my Linkedin and my Resume. Wyntalent helped me double check my applications, paperwork, forwardables, and recommended jobs that fit my interests. My current job, ReachLink LLC, Wyntalent recommended and helped me land the interview.
Since completing Wyncode, I have worked on my personal website, two client websites: ArtSail.info and ElHilostudio.com, and the startup Teledoctor company, Reachlink.com.
I am proud to be a woman in tech. I feel constantly inspired by the women in my industry and strive to be someone to look up to as well.
Where to start?
Attend a one day boot camp as an introduction! This introduces you to basic coding skills and concepts while also seeing if coding sparks your interest. I also recommend online tutorials from trusted coding academies to start practicing. Research what sparks your interest and aligns with your goals in the technology world.
